The skincare and the health and wellness industry, in general, is one of the most lucrative you will come across today. As a result, to make the most out of the profitability of this niche, most companies are opting to adopt a multi-level marketing (MLM) model. However, despite the widespread popularity, many MLM companies have faced a lot of controversy regarding their operation, with many of them being accused of being scams. Here is an unbiased and honest look at Neora, an MLM opportunity that has been around for some time, to help you determine if it is a genuine company you might want to invest in or a scam to be avoided.
WHAT IS NEORA?
Neora is an Multi-Level-Marketing company that was founded by Jeff Olson (who also serves as the current CEO) in 2011 back when it was still recognized as Nerium International. In February of 2019, the company underwent a rebranding and became Neora.
This name change was as a result of the company making changes to the ingredients that were incorporated in the manufacture of their products. They previously included an ingredient known as Nerium oleandrin extract (hence the initial company name) in some of their most popular products, but have since done away with it.
WHAT PRODUCTS DOES NEORA OFFER?
Products from the company can be divided into two main categories:
- Anti-aging wellness products for oral consumption
- Anti-aging skincare products for topical application
The company describes its line of products as pioneers in the anti-aging innovation combining the best of what nature and science have to offer to deliver proven results. Here is a more detailed look at their products:
Skincare Products
There are around 15 individual products in the Neora skincare range, with some of them including:
- Age IQ Night and Day Cream
This is described as an advanced age-fighting product that is meant to help regulate and revitalize your skin. It is formulated with the patented SIG-1273 molecule, TC3-Armor blend, and SAL-14 blend. A monthly auto-delivery costs $140 whereas a one-time purchase will cost you $187.
- Acne Pads and Cleanser Combo
This combo is made up of a double-cleansing face wash that is intended to remove makeup and oil-based impurities and multifunctional acne treatment pads that are meant to clear up blackheads, whiteheads, and acne blemishes. A monthly auto-delivery costs $74 whereas a one-time purchase will cost you $99.
- Prolistic Skin-Balancing Lotion with Probiotic Technology
The prolistic lotion is made up of a probiotic lysate and prebiotic lysate blend that is intended to support and soothe the skin as well as deliver 24-48-hour hydration. A monthly auto-delivery costs $45 whereas a one-time purchase will cost you $60.

- Wellness Chews Energy Formula
These energy chews are meant to give you an immediate energy boost as well as help to balance your circadian rhythm over time. A monthly auto-delivery costs $40 whereas a one-time purchase will cost you $53.

This includes products such as EHT brain formula, prolistic probiotic powder, and wellness energy chews, among others. The set retails at $219, or $250 if you opt to go for monthly auto-delivery.
GETTING STARTED AS A DISTRIBUTOR FOR NEORA
To become an affiliate for Neora, you will need to get referred by an existing brand partner. When you visit the Neora website, there is a “Find Your Brand Partner” link that you are supposed to click. Once you do this, you will be given the option to search for your brand partner by phone, website, or email.
If you don’t have a referrer, you can simply search for a Neora distributor online. Once you have a sponsor, you can then acquire a basic Neora affiliate membership for a cost of $49.95. The basic kit does not come with products. The product packs include:
- Starter Pack
The starter pack features 13 products and costs $500
- Builder Pack
This pack features 25 products and costs $750
- Premier Builder Pack
This pack features 32 products and costs $1,000
Each pack/kit includes training and marketing materials. You also get a replicated website that is a duplicate site that allows you to make and refer people. You will also gain access to “Neora Edge”, a subscription for online resources and tools that supposedly help you build your business. This is a free service for the first month, after which you will be charged $29.95 every month.

THE NEORA COMPENSATION PLAN
According to the Neora compensation plan, there are two ways to earn commissions – referring others and selling products. Here is a detailed breakdown of what you can expect:
Affiliate Ranks
- Active Brand Partner
You need to generate 120 personal qualifying volume (PQV) or 80 auto-delivery volume (ADV).
- Brand Partner Plus
You need to generate 120 PQV or 80 ADV and recruit a minimum of one active brand partner.
- Senior Brand Partner
You have to generate 180 PQV or 80 ADV, generate 150 leadership qualifying volume (LQV) per month, generate 500 group volume (GV) a month, and recruit a minimum of two active brand partners.
- Elite Brand Partner
To become an elite brand partner, you need to generate 180 PQV or 80 ADV, generate 250 LQV per month, generate 1200 GV a month, and recruit a minimum of three active brand partners.
- Premier Brand Partner
You have to generate 240 PQV a month or 80 ADV, generate 500 LQV per month, generate 2000 GV a month, and recruit a minimum of three active brand partners.
- Director
To attain this rank, you have to generate 320 PQV a month or 80 ADV, generate 750 LQV per month, generate 3500 GV a month, and recruit a minimum of three active brand partners.
- Team Director
You have to generate 400 PQV a month or 80 ADV, generate 2000 LQV per month, generate 6000 GV a month, and recruit a minimum of three active brand partners.
- Elite Director
You have to generate 400 PQV a month or 150 ADV, generate 7000 LQV per month, generate 11,000 GV a month, and recruit a minimum of three active brand partners.
- Premier Director

You are required to generate 400 PQV a month or 150 ADV, generate 35,000 LQV a month, generate 70,000 GV a month, and recruit a minimum of four active brand partners.
- National Marketing Director
You have to generate 400 PQV a month or 150 ADV, generate 60,000 LQV a month, generate 125,000 GV a month, and recruit a minimum of four active brand partners.
- Silver marketing Director
You need to generate 400 PQV a month or 150 ADV, generate 120,000 LQV a month, generate 255,000 GV a month, and recruit two area marketing directors and two elite directors.
- Gold national Marketing Director
You have to generate 400 PQV a month or 150 ADV, generate 180,000 LQV a month, generate 637,500 GV a month, and recruit two regional marketing directors and three elite directors.
- Platinum National Marketing Director
You are required to generate 400 PQV a month or 150 ADV, generate 240,000 LQV a month, generate 1,275,500 GV a month, and recruit two national marketing directors and three elite directors.
- International Marketing Director
You need to generate 400 PQV a month or 150 ADV, generate 300,000 LQV a month, generate 3,000,000 GV a month and recruit two silver national marketing directors and three elite directors.
- Silver International Marketing Director
You have to generate 400 PQV a month or 150 ADV, generate 600,000 LQV a month, generate 6,000,000 GV a month and recruit two gold national marketing directors and three elite directors.
- Gold International Marketing Director
You are required to maintain 400 PQV a month or 150 ADV, generate 1,200,000 GV a month and recruit two platinum national marketing directors and three elite directors.
Retail Commissions
All affiliates working for Neora are eligible to earn retail commissions on the sales that they make to retail customers. Retail commissions are derived from the difference between the wholesale price and the retail cost of a product that is ordered by a customer.
- Personal Sales Commissions
Personal sales commissions are bonuses that are paid based on the retail sales volume of affiliates every month. Here is a more detailed look at the commission rates:
- $350 – $1,849 in product sales will earn you 5% in commissions
- $1,850 – $3,649 in product sales will earn you 10% in commissions
- Over $3,650 in product sales will earn you 15% in commissions
First Order Bonus
This is a bonus that is awarded to affiliates who recruit a brand partner who purchases a premier builder, builder, or starter pack. A further 10% is rewarded to whoever made the referral. The commission amount is based on the individual pack that is bought.
Director Bonus
If you attain the director rank within 2 months, you will be rewarded with a $200 bonus. If you do it within 2-3 months, you will receive $100.
Power-5 Bonus
When you bring in 5 brand partners who buy an enrolment pack within 12 months, you will earn the power-5 bonus. The amount is 5% of the total price of the product packs. This amounts to around $125-$250 every time the bonus is paid out.
Momentum Bonus
This bonus pays out a 3% bonus to affiliates who have attained the elite brand partner rank or higher for the first three months of reaching the rank. For instance, you will earn 8% and 7% respectively (rather than 5% and 4%) on your first and second downlines as an elite brand partner, but this is only for the first few months of attaining the rank.

CONS
- The company had to undergo rebranding
Neora was initially launched in 2011 as Nerium but had to undergo a rebranding and was relaunched in 2019 as Neora. The rebranding could be attributed to the legal action taken against the company regarding its main ingredient. This casts a doubt against the quality of current ingredients used in the products especially since most of them are yet to be approved by the FDA.
- You have to recruit new affiliates to increase your earnings
One of the requirements that you need to meet to be able to earn commissions under the Neora commission plan is the recruitment of new affiliates. By recruiting other affiliates, you will rise in ranks and consequently earn more bonuses and higher commissions.
- The product packs are expensive
The price of the product packs ranges from $500 – $1,000. This is quite a bit of money and you might have a problem convincing prospective affiliates to purchase any one of them.
- Low earning potential
There is not much money to be made due to the way the company is structured.
VERDICT
Although Neora is a legitimate company, there is not much money to be made working as an affiliate. This is because the MLM business model that it is based on limits considerable earnings to those who have achieved the highest ranks. Therefore, unless you are willing to put in a lot of your time in recruiting new members and meeting numerous requirements, I would suggest looking into other ways to make money.
